With a 150mm aperture instrument you can see structure in some nebulae in good conditions. Many bright globular clusters can be resolved down to their centres. The EQ 3-2 mount can also be retrofitted with a motor drive set. Beautiful astrophotos then become possible after a little practice. But the general principle for mounts is 'the more stable the better'. A mount simply cannot be too stable.
