To be able to comfortably observe celestial objects, the rate of earth’s rotation needs to be countered. Otherwise your observation targets will drift out of the field of view of your telescope.
Seben’s telescope motor drive repositions your telescope automatically by exactly countering the rate of earth’s rotation. It keeps your celestial observation target (planet, nebula, moon, etc.) in view without having to manually reposition the telescope every few seconds. Simply couple it to the equatorial mount of your Seben telescope and your telescope will be driven automatically. Let your Seben telescope do the driving!
If you are interested in astrophotography a telescope motor drive is a must have for you. The image quality suffers from the seemingly movement of the sky without motor driven compensation. Seben’s telescope motor drive provides sufficiently accurate tracking for e.g. piggyback astrophotography. Long-exposure astrophotography will thus bring stunning planetary pictures, as well as pictures of the moon and stars as result.
Tracking speed can be adjusted to 2x or 4x by the push of a button on the practical hand-held controller. This function allows you to systematically drive through stellar constellations, or to drift over lunar surface details. Furthermore the 1x sidereal tracking speed can be accelerated or decelerated. The variable speed control allows you to track almost any object. Besides tracking stars, it is very useful to be able to adapt the tracking speed to the proper motion of other celestial objects (moon, planets, etc). The motor drive can be used for observations in the northern hemisphere, as well as in the southern hemisphere. The motor drive is battery powered and requires 6 AA batteries (included). Independent of power sources you are thus free to choose your observation location out in the nature.
