3" Hyperion focuser for Newtonians with 40mm of focus travel
The Professional 3" Hyperion Crayford focusers from Baader are designed for maximum loads.
The advantages in a nutshell:
- hard titanium oxide coating
- diamond-hard sliding surfaces with 5 micron tolerance
- 1 / 10 reduction gearing
- Vernier scale with 1/10mm reading accuracy (estimated 5/100)
- reflection-free inner diameter with 5mm baffles and 76mm clear inner diameter
Important note: the titanium oxide coating of the 3.5" tube always has slight colour variations which highlight the internal structure of the aluminium used.
(The tube blanks are annealed to stress-relieve them before machining - this is essential due to the extremely tight fit. The changes which result in the structure of the metal which show up in the extremely hard titanium oxide coating cannot be avoided.)
