The Omegon crosshair eyepiece is ideally suited for guiding astrophotos when used in off-axis guiders or guide scopes. The extremely fine, illuminated double crosshairs make tracking the guide star much straightforward for you. Instead of having to cover the star, as with single crosshairs, you can keep it precisely positioned in the centre of the eyepiece. Any deviation from this position is noticed immediately, and in time to be able to react.
So you can see the crosshairs
The crosshairs are illuminated with red LED light which can be dimmed by means of a rotary switch on the side. There is also a dioptre adjuster on the eyepiece to ensure both the star and the crosshairs are in focus.
The magnification makes it possible
The 12.5mm eyepiece always provides you with a sufficiently high magnification to be able to precisely control the tracking. This 1.25" eyepiece is a Ploessl design with four multicoated lens elements, giving a low-glare 40° field of view.
And not just for photos
There are also other applications for your crosshairs eyepiece. These eyepieces can also be used for the determination of the fields of view, for the polar alignment of a mount or for the position angles of double stars.
How to perfectly guide for astronomy photos is not a secret, but the result of using the right accessories.
